Mainstreet Equity Corporation ("Mainstreet" or "we") takes the privacy and security of personal information in our care seriously. On May 21, 2024, we discovered that an unauthorized third party gained access to a portion of our IT infrastructure, temporarily affecting some of our systems and rendering them inaccessible. Upon discovering this, we immediately undertook countermeasures to prevent any further unauthorized activity. We have also retained third-party cybersecurity experts to assist with containment, remediation and to conduct a forensic investigation and we are working with external legal counsel to ensure we meet our legal obligations.

From the investigation, we learned that the incident may have impacted some personal information belonging to tenants (e.g., roommates or primary renters) or guarantors of Mainstreet. If you paid rent or a security deposit in your capacity as a roommate or guarantor of a primary renter between April 2023 to June 2024, your information may have been impacted. This notice also applies if you paid rent or a security deposit in your capacity as a primary renter between April 2023 to June 2024, and we do not otherwise have a means to contact you directly via email or a forwarding address you placed on file. Please note that if we have this information for any potential impacted primary renters, you will have received a notice directly.

The scope of personal information relating to you may include your name and banking information.

We want to assure you that at this time, there is no evidence suggesting that any individual's personal information was or is being used by the unauthorized user for any purpose including to commit fraud or identity theft as a result of this incident.
