When moving to a new city you're always on the lookout for a locality that gives you the maximum benefits at a reasonable cost. City Park is one such core neighbourhood. It is situated in the centre of Saskatoon surrounded by beautiful parks, schools, the University and has excellent transport options. It is such a well-known locality that as many as 6,000 people have chosen this locality as their new home. If my facts don't convince you, here are some of the factors that might influence your decision to choose this locality over the others.
Public Transit
When moving to a city that you are not familiar with, having public transit in close proximity can be a blessing. The route to your work or University can be figured out with utmost ease; once that part is done you can start exploring the city. The City park locality has two bus routes (12 & 14) that connect it to various parts of the city. Hence it is a perfect locality for students and new immigrants with family.
Schools and University
A number of elementary schools, colleges and the University of Saskatchewan have direct access to this locality. It is always beneficial to have the kid's school within your locality. This might seem more appealing to working parents as dropping off and picking up your kids from school becomes easier.
Students will also prefer staying at a location that is close to the University as they can stay off-campus by paying lower rent and also save the transportation time and cost.
Parks and Recreation
The most important time for relaxation is during the weekend. Now if you have some social and cultural programs organized over the weekend won't it be the best?
This is the kind of experience that you can get while staying at City Park. The community organizes a number of events that will keep your energy high. An art gallery for art lovers; has some excellent work done by local and international artists. A number of parks within close proximity where quality time can be spent with family and friends.
Location
Now when you are selecting a location, you generally try to find an area that is close to places that you will like to visit or at least have easy access to them.
City Park area is bounded by the South Saskatchewan River and has easy access to the 33rd and 25th street. It has great dining and pub culture. You can find a number of interesting coffee houses within this community. During my stay in Saskatoon, I found this really interesting coffee house by the name City Perks. It reminded me of my University days so there was an instant connect, it had some great coffee and excellent deserts. A number of grocery stores are also present within walking distance.
Hospital
It is a good feeling when you have a hospital nearby. A person feels secure at the time of emergencies. The City hospital within this community is a large facility and offers specialized services. They have set up two emergency departments that will cater to your needs 24 hrs. Hence this community, on the whole, is really attractive and has a lot to offer.
