Bob is Mainstreet's founder, a leading Canadian real estate owner and asset manager with more than two decades of experience in acquiring and repositioning all types of properties. Bob made his real estate start while still a teenager, buying a pair of houses in Calgary, renovating them and selling them for a tidy profit. He was hooked, and soon moved into larger residential buildings, where he discovered a talent for finding under-valued property and repositioning it. As he built a private property portfolio from the ground up, he honed and perfected a model of acquiring under-priced properties and renewing them to a much higher and more valuable standard. It’s a background that strongly shapes how Bob runs Mainstreet and the vision he has for property ownership and management. Every transaction in Bob's career has been financed with his own equity and personal guarantees. With an unwavering dedication to creating and capturing new value from each property, he has maintained a portfolio that is constantly in tune with market conditions. This has allowed for profitable real estate ownership at all phases of the property cycle. Bob has owned and managed, on a collective basis, over 10,000 multi-family units since creating Mainstreet, which he took public in 1998. His guidance has led Mainstreet into a position of market prominence. Mainstreet was a Top 10 Gainer among all TSX-listed companies in 2011, and was number one among all Canadian REITs and real estate corporations in shareholder returns over the past decade. Bob holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He is Honorary Consul General for Belize in Canada. Bob currently sits on the Board of Directors of The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
Johnny is responsible for all aspects of operations, integration and re-positioning of new properties, marketing of our brand and overall business development. He brings over 30 years of senior management experience in Asia, UK, Australia and North America. Prior to joining Mainstreet, he served as VP of Finance and Administration at HB Media Holding Pte. Ltd., the holding company for a printing and publishing group in Singapore. Johnny joined Mainstreet in 1998 as its Chief Financial Officer (the year the company went public) as one of its founding team members. He held a dual role at Mainstreet as both CFO and COO up until March 2017 when he relinquished his duties as CFO to focus his energy and management skills solely on his role as Chief Operating Officer. Johnny holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
Trina is responsible for the complete financial oversight of Mainstreet. Ms. Cui joined Mainstreet in December 2008 serving most recently as Vice President, Corporate Finance of the Corporation. She holds a Chartered Professional Accountant – Certified General Accountant designation, obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (High Honours) degree double major in Accounting and Finance from Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario and a Master of Business Administration degree from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario.
Sheena leads the operations teams overseeing Mainstreet's property portfolios across Canada. As part of Mainstreet's senior management team, she is also responsible for setting policy, developing operational systems and team building. Sheena joined Mainstreet in 2002 and has played an integral role in building the company. She has served in numerous capacities, including as regional manager of several Mainstreet portfolios and, more recently, VP of Quality Control. She brings with her a wealth of operations knowledge as well as a deep understanding of the Mainstreet philosophy, which she has helped to shape. She is dedicated to Mainstreet's focus on result-driven, cost-effective value-added performance.
