The uncovered stories of some of Mainstreet’s team members

Not every one gets to work with a recording artist, a pilot and accomplished sporting personalities – but here at Mainstreet Equity Corp. I am fortunate to work with just such a group: A musician (Pradaboi), a pilot/karting champion, a soccer star and a track star. They each bring something unique to our company, so I’d like to share a bit of their stories with you.

Leandro (Resident Manager)

Leandro recently joined MEQ as a Resident Manager in our downtown Calgary portfolio. Leandro is the 1999 Brazilian karting champion. As if being a karting champion wasn’t enough, Leandro is also a commercial pilot and worked as a flight instructor in Brazil – welcome to the team Leandro … I beg your pardon, CPT Leandro!

Dawit Berhe (Maintenance)

Before he moved to Canada, Dawit played professional soccer for his country Eretria and has represented his country in soccer events in Africa like the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations. During his hay days Dawit visited other African countries representing his club and country. Even as he takes on new interests like skiing as he settles into his new home city, he still participates in the local soccer clubs where he is part of Calgary United Soccer Association.

Andres Parada (Leasing Agent)

We know him at the office as ‘Andres’, in the Latina community he is known as Pradaboi a well-known and respected Latina Urban Musician. I had the pleasure to attend one of his shows where he was the opening act for one of Latina’s best known musician Willie Colon a New York born Puerto Rican salsa musician and social activist.

He has a huge following and has worked on events like the annual Gift of Hope Charity Event, where all money raised at this event helps to support children in his Latina Community.

While talking to him, Pradaboi had this to say “I am proud of what I do because it makes me feel that when I work on my music I am expressing myself and fulfill’ s that empty space and answers the question of: what is the purpose of me being on earth? – to sing! Music connects us, and it can take us back to a memory, a place, and a moment. That is what I would love for someone to experience with my music.”

He has been recording and performing in Canada for over 2 years and is currently developing his sound and creating his movement as Pradaboi, check out his YouTube channel.

Andrew Ellerton (Regional Manager)

Andrew has run in races all around the world as a pro. His fondest memories are from his days in University, where his teammates included future Olympic silver medalist, Nick Willis and fellow Olympian & Commonwealth games silver medalist Nate Brannen. Together, these 3 dominated the NCAA and in 2005 they became the first school to successfully sweep all 3 distance relays at the legendary Penn Relays in Philadelphia that has been held every year since 1895 and draws over 100,000 spectators. Over 2 days they set two school records and one NCAA record and were featured on the front page of the New York Times sports section for their accomplishments.
