As a publicly-traded company, investor relations is an integral part of Mainstreet's strategy. Ensuring current shareholders, prospective investors and the analyst community are well-informed and engaged with the company is essential to maximizing value for all shareholders. Mainstreet undertakes several initiatives to ensure its investor relations strategy is being optimized:

CEO Marketing

Investors want to hear about the company, its current operations, and its strategy going forward directly from the CEO. As such, making regular meetings with investors across the country a priority is a necessary part of the CEO's role. At Mainstreet, we try to schedule the CEO for marketing at least once per quarter and visit all major cities at least once annually.

Company Materials

Any material that is produced by the company and read by investors is a reflection of Mainstreet and is the way the majority of investors will communicate and learn about the company. As such our materials need to be accurate, produced on a timely basis, and provide the relevant information that investors want to know. These materials include our MD&A, investor presentation, and corporate website.

Communication with Analysts

Mainstreet currently has six equity research analysts that provide coverage of the company. Investors often look to these analysts for independent information and advice on the merits of Mainstreet as an investment in their portfolios. From Mainstreet's perspective, ensuring the analysts are well-informed and have access to management is critical to helping them produce the best research possible. This will include frequent calls with management, as well as property tours to get a first-hand look at the company's properties.

Tracking Public Markets Activity

It is important for Mainstreet to be aware of market activity as a source for benchmarking and continuous improvements. This includes monitoring the company's share price, trading volume, and changes to its shareholder list. As well, the company needs to be aware of how Mainstreet's share price is performing relative to other real estate companies, the real estate index, and the overall broader index.
